Privacy policy

What we collect on our website, in the powerconnect console and in our alerts, and what we do with it.

Effective October 13, 2026

The short version

  • We collect what we need to run powerconnect: details about your business and equipment, sensor readings, and contact details for the people who get alerts.
  • Our website uses no cookies, no analytics and no ads. The console uses one cookie to keep you signed in.
  • When an equipment alarm needs looking into, we send the alarm details and some account details to Anthropic, whose Claude AI writes the diagnosis.
  • We never sell personal information. Text alert sign-ups and consent are never sold or shared for marketing; our text provider uses your number only to deliver our texts.
  • To see, correct or delete your information, email info@wizoddtechnologies.com.

1. Who we are

Wizodd Technologies LLC (“Wizodd”, “we”, “us”) is a Delaware limited liability company. We make powerconnect, a low-cost remote monitoring service for small businesses such as restaurants and ice rinks. Our sensors watch equipment like rooftop HVAC units, walk-in coolers, ice-rink plant and water treatment, and an AI assistant looks into equipment alarms and tells the business what it found and what to do.

This policy covers:

  • our website, wizoddtechnologies.com;
  • the powerconnect console at app.wizoddtechnologies.com;
  • the powerconnect service, including its email alerts and the powerconnect Alerts text message program.

In this policy, a “client” is a business that has signed up for powerconnect. This policy does not cover other websites, including ones we link to such as our YouTube channel and wizodd.us. Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using powerconnect.

2. What we collect

Website visitors

  • Our website does not ask who you are, and it uses no cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
  • Like any website, our server receives your IP address and basic browser details with each request. These may appear in technical logs that we use only for security and troubleshooting.
  • The website’s fonts come from Google Fonts. Your browser downloads them directly from Google, so Google receives your IP address, your browser details and the address of our site. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Everything else on the site, including its scripts, images and video, comes from our own server.

Contact form enquiries

  • What you type: your name, email address, business and number of sites (optional), and your message.
  • We save your enquiry on our server and email it to our team through Microsoft 365 so we can reply. Our server’s activity log also notes that an enquiry arrived from your email address.
  • To stop spam, we use your IP address to limit how many enquiries one address can send in an hour. We hold it in memory only, never on disk and never with your enquiry, and it is cleared when our server restarts.

Clients and console users

  • Account details a client gives us when we set up the service: the business name; a main contact’s name, role, email address and phone number; the plan; any details of the client’s HVAC or refrigeration contractor the client gives us, such as company name and phone number; site names, addresses and opening hours; and descriptions of the equipment we monitor.
  • Console logins: Wizodd creates every login; there is no public sign-up. A login holds a username (which may be an email address), the client it belongs to, the date it was created and the password, which is stored only as a secure hash, so it can’t be read back.
  • Sign-in records: when someone signs in, or tries to, we record the username and the IP address. For a failed attempt, that includes whatever was typed as the username.
  • Activity records: changes to notification settings, test emails and “Send now” are logged with the username that made them and the email addresses involved.
  • Billing and support: the business details we need to quote, invoice and get paid, records of payments, and anything you tell us when you ask for help.

Monitoring data from our sensors

  • Equipment readings, each with the time it was taken. Depending on the equipment, these include temperatures, compressor current and run cycles, door open or closed, condensate, water conductivity and pH, chemical tank level, air pressure, and ice surface and brine temperatures. Our sensors typically report every 30 seconds.
  • Alarms and their history: what tripped, how serious it is, and when it started, cleared or was acknowledged; plus the AI assistant’s technical notes, service tickets and the messages sent to the client.
  • Sensor details: model, software version, serial numbers and status, plus each Wizodd sensor’s hardware (MAC) address and its address on the local network it is connected to. Sensors send their readings to our monitoring server over an encrypted connection.

Monitoring data is about equipment, not people. It can still show what happens at a site; for example, door readings show when a cooler door was opened.

People who receive email alerts

  • For each site, the client chooses up to 10 email addresses to receive powerconnect emails. Email is off until the client turns it on. If you are on a list, it is because a client added you.
  • We store those addresses with the site’s settings and use them only to send that site’s powerconnect emails.
  • We keep a record of each email: who it went to, when, and whether our email service accepted it.

People who sign up for text alerts

If you sign up for powerconnect Alerts, we collect your name and email address (from the client’s invitation), your mobile number, and a record of your consent. Section 6 explains exactly what and how we use it.

3. How we use it

  • To provide powerconnect: collect and show readings, detect alarms, look into them, write service tickets, and send alerts and messages to the people the client chose.
  • To run the console: sign you in, show each client’s information only to that client’s users, and keep the console secure, for example by blocking repeated failed sign-ins.
  • To keep our sensors working, including sending software updates to our own sensors over the internet. We cannot control or change your equipment.
  • To answer enquiries: we use contact form details only to reply to you and, if you ask, prepare a quote.
  • To support clients and improve the service, for example by looking back at how an alarm was handled.
  • To bill clients and keep business records.
  • To meet legal obligations and protect our rights, our clients and the public.

We don’t use personal information for advertising, we don’t build marketing profiles, and we don’t sell it.

4. How our AI assistant uses information

powerconnect uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, through Anthropic’s business API. It runs only when an alarm starts, when an alarm gets more serious, or when a follow-up check it scheduled is due. Your readings are not streamed to Anthropic all the time.

What we send to Anthropic

  • The alarm: its type, how serious it is, when it started and the readings that triggered it.
  • The site’s name, address, opening hours and local time.
  • The client’s business name and account details, including the main contact’s name, role, email address and phone number, the plan, and the contractor details the client gave us.
  • Each piece of equipment’s name, type and description, its latest readings and, when needed, up to 14 days of reading history.
  • Other active alarms at the site and the site’s last 10 service history entries, without the list of who received each message.

What we don’t send

  • The email addresses on notification lists.
  • Console usernames, passwords or cookies.
  • Website contact form enquiries.
  • Sensor serial numbers, network addresses or access keys.
  • Text alert phone numbers and consent records.

With that information, the AI writes a technical note for our team, opens a service ticket, writes a plain-English message for the client, and may schedule a follow-up check. It never sees or chooses who gets emailed; the client’s notification settings decide that. The AI makes judgments about equipment, not about people, and its diagnoses can be wrong. Our Terms of Service say more about relying on them.

Anthropic processes this information for us as a service provider under its commercial terms. We keep the AI’s notes, tickets, messages and an activity log on our own server.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Service providers

These companies handle information for us so we can run powerconnect:

  • DigitalOcean hosts our server in the United States. It runs our website, the console and our monitoring server.
  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365) is our email service. It carries contact form enquiries to our team, alert emails to the people a client chose, and our everyday email.
  • Anthropic provides the Claude AI that looks into alarms (Section 4).
  • Google (Google Fonts) supplies the fonts on our website; your browser contacts Google directly (Section 2).
  • ClickSend (a Sinch company) will receive the mobile numbers of people who join powerconnect Alerts, only to deliver those texts, once text alerts are available (Section 6).
  • Banks and payment services process payments clients make to us.

People connected to a client’s account

  • Everyone with a console login for a client can see that client’s sites, readings, alarms, tickets, messages, notification settings and contact details.
  • Alert emails go to the addresses the client chose. We do not send service tickets to contractors automatically; a contractor gets our emails only if the client adds their address.

Within Wizodd

Wizodd staff with administrator access can see all clients’ information, including messages, enquiries and the AI’s notes, so they can run and support the service.

Legal reasons and business changes

  • We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Wizodd, our clients or others.
  • If Wizodd merges with or is bought by another company, or sells its business, information may pass to the new owner, who must keep following this policy.

Text alert sign-ups are handled differently from everything above. See Section 6.

6. Text alerts (SMS) and your mobile number

powerconnect Alerts is our text message program for urgent equipment alerts at the sites you sign up for. Text alerts are being introduced and may not be available for your site yet.

We never sell your text alert sign-up or share it for marketing

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Information sharing with subcontractors that support this program is permitted only to deliver it: ClickSend (a Sinch company) delivers our texts; DigitalOcean, our hosting provider, runs the server where we store sign-ups; and Microsoft 365, our email service, carries the invitation emails we send for clients. They may use this information only to provide those services to us.

Section 5 describes how we share other information. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

How you sign up

A client invites you by email. You open the powerconnect sign-up page from the invitation, enter your own mobile number and tick a box, which starts unticked, next to the text message terms. We then send you a text to confirm. Signing up is optional and is never a condition of buying or using anything. We only text numbers that have signed up this way; we don’t text a phone number just because a client gave it to us as an account contact.

You can see what the sign-up page shows on our powerconnect Alerts page.

What we collect

  • Your name and email address, from the client’s invitation.
  • Your mobile number.
  • A record of your consent: the date and time, your IP address, the exact wording you were shown, and the site or sites you signed up for.
  • A record of the texts we send you and of your HELP and STOP requests.

How we use it

Only to send you alerts for the sites you signed up for, the sign-up confirmation and replies to HELP and STOP, and to keep proof of your consent and of any opt-out. We keep text alert sign-ups separate from client account details. They are not sent to Anthropic’s AI and are never used for marketing.

The phone number a client gives us for its main contact is different. It is account information, handled as described in Section 2 and Section 4, which includes sending it to our AI provider when an alarm is investigated. The number you enter to join text alerts is kept separately and is handled only as this section describes, even if it is the same number.

How the texts are delivered

ClickSend (a Sinch company) is our text message delivery subcontractor. It processes your number on our behalf only to deliver our texts to your mobile carrier, and may not use it for any other purpose.

Your controls

  • Reply STOP at any time to cancel (QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE and OPT OUT work too). We’ll send one text confirming you are opted out.
  • Reply START to resume, or HELP for help. You can also email info@wizoddtechnologies.com.
  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

The full program terms are in the text alerts section of our Terms of Service.

7. Cookies

Our website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It has no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Its only outside connection is to Google Fonts (Section 2). Because we don’t track you, there is nothing for “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control settings to switch off.

The powerconnect console sets one essential cookie, named wm_session, when you sign in. It keeps you signed in for up to 7 days and holds your username, your role and a signature that proves it came from us. Scripts on the page can’t read it, and signing out removes it. If a page fails to load, the console also leaves a short note in your browser’s temporary session storage so it can reload once; the note is removed a few seconds later. The console loads no analytics and no outside scripts or fonts.

8. How we protect information

  • The website and console use HTTPS, and our sensors send readings over encrypted (TLS) connections.
  • Client console passwords must be at least 12 characters and are stored only as secure hashes.
  • Sign-in cookies are signed so they can’t be forged, and they expire after 7 days. Repeated failed sign-ins from one address are blocked for a while.
  • Each client’s users can see only that client’s information. Administrator access is limited to Wizodd staff.

No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t promise that information will never be lost or accessed without permission. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires. You can help by using a strong password you don’t use anywhere else, and by telling us straight away if you think your login has been misused.

9. How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Most records are not deleted automatically on a fixed schedule. We keep them while they are useful and delete them when they are no longer needed or when you ask us to, unless we have to keep them.

  • Contact form enquiries: until we no longer need them to reply and follow up, or you ask us to delete them.
  • Client accounts and monitoring data (readings, alarms, notes, tickets and messages): while the client uses powerconnect, so the history is there when it’s needed. When the service ends, the client can ask us to delete it.
  • Console logins: until they are removed. Email us to remove one.
  • Server logs (sign-ins, activity and AI investigations): for as long as we need them for security and troubleshooting.
  • Text alert consent and opt-out records: for as long as we need them to show we had your permission and stopped when you asked.
  • Billing records: for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

A few things expire on their own: the console sign-in cookie after 7 days, and the contact form’s spam counter, which is held only in memory and cleared when our server restarts. Deleted information may stay for a while in occasional backup copies of our server.

10. Your choices and rights

  • See, correct or delete your information: email info@wizoddtechnologies.com. Tell us which site or business you are connected to so we can check it’s you. We’ll reply as soon as we can and tell you what we did.
  • Information in a client’s account: some information belongs to a client’s account, such as its staff contacts. If you work for a client, we may check with the client before changing or deleting it.
  • Console logins: you can’t currently reset your password or delete your login yourself in the console. Email us and we’ll do it.
  • Email alerts: our alert emails don’t have an unsubscribe link, because the client manages its own list. Ask the client that added you to remove you on its Notifications page, or email us and we’ll remove you.
  • Text alerts: reply STOP at any time (Section 6).

Sometimes we must keep certain information, for example billing records, consent records or what we need to resolve a dispute. If so, we’ll tell you. Depending on where you live, local privacy laws may give you more rights; email us and we’ll help. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights.

11. Children

powerconnect is a service for businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

12. Where information is stored

Our server is in the United States. If you use our website or service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Our service providers may also process information in other countries where they operate.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as powerconnect changes. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. If we make a significant change, we’ll tell clients by email or in the console before it takes effect. We won’t use text alert sign-up information in a new way without asking you first.
